As a business broker, you have significant influence and ability to make a difference in your community by planning ways to make an impact through charitable giving. Our August meeting will host a distinguished panel of individuals who are leading and making substantial impact in their communities. We will discuss various topics including Donor Advised Funds as a tax avoidance strategy upon sale of a business.

Meet our panelists:

James Maher, Founder and CEO,  Archford Capital Strategies

Jim Maher, an attorney and CPA, holds a bachelor’s degree and a law degree from the University of Missouri – Columbia. He is the CEO and founder of Archford. Maher is a member of the Missouri Bar, The National Center for Employee Ownership, and Vistage. He is the Founder of the St. Louis Chapter – Exit Planning Institute and serves on the Leadership Council of Southwestern Illinois. In 2019, 
Jim was named “Outstanding Volunteer of the Year” by the Association of Fund-Raising Professionals for the St Louis region. In 2009, Maher was named “Donor Advisor of the Year” by Leave a Legacy, Planned Giving Counsel, and The Greater St. Louis Community Foundation.

Josina GreenJosina Greene, Director of Giving Strategies, St Louis Community Foundation

Josina Greene fulfills the duties that underpin the St. Louis Community Foundation’s service commitment to existing donors and supports them in pursuing their charitable giving goals and work to encourage more strategic grantmaking.  She does this by 
cultivating and maintaining strong complementary relationships with donors and professional advisors, helping them to initiate a relationship with the Community Foundation to address the donor’s charitable giving needs.
Sullivan Erger,AVP, Business Development Officer, First Savings Bank ‑ Small Business Lending

Sullivan “Sully” Erger began his banking career in 2018 as a credit analyst for a community bank based out of St. Louis where he helped his team become the #1 SBA lender in Eastern Missouri. Sully has experience in financing commercial real estate purchases, business acquisitions, partner buy-outs, debt refinances, franchise start-ups and more. Sully received his Bachelor of Science in Business (Banking and Finance) from the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss). After a short stint in the investment advising realm, Sully decided to make a change into banking. Sully spends his free time traveling, playing golf, and rooting for the Ole Miss Rebels and St. Louis Blues. 
Sully is also a member of The Buddy Fund, a charity that helps at-risk youth in the St. Louis community.
Marquita WileyMarquita Wiley, IBBA-MA Education Chairman – Facilitator

Marquita Trenier Wiley is a business broker for Innovative Business Advisors and a business executive with more than 40 years of experience in the financial services and M&A Industries. She is president of Trenier Enterprises, LLC, a multi-business holding company. Marquita established Trenier Enterprises, LLC in 2005 and has grown the business through both acquisition and de-novo start-up.
