Dear fellow IBBA M-A members and affiliates:
In 2019, we set out to create a regional resource focused on enhancing the professional career of business brokers and M&A advisors across a six-state region which included Missouri, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Iowa, and Kentucky. In 2020, we were granted the first official IBBA U.S.-based charter and became IBBA Mid-America. If you are an IBBA member and you reside in one of those regional states, then you are automatically assigned membership in IBBA-MA. You get the same great IBBA benefits for the same rates plus you get additional membership benefits from the regional chapter.
The Association’s overarching goal is to foster a peer-supported community for education, training, networking, and deal-making for business brokers and M&A advisors. The founding members felt there was a gap in our region for such support. We wanted to bring the benefits of IBBA membership closer to home and make it more accessible and meaningful to brokers who wanted to pursue a career in broker services. We also felt it was important to support each other by emphasizing the belief in a shared and professional value system, as well as assure the public and our clients they were being represented by industry professionals. together.
I want to lean on that overarching goal and commitment to welcome our chapter members and to thank all of you for your professional representation and contributions to our industry. Because of your efforts, industry partners are able to see the value in working with professional business advisors and our local communities have a closer connection to access business advisory services. Together, we are more informed and better positioned for quality training, industry relevant education, and professional support than ever before.
If you are considering business brokering or M&A advisory as a career, then I encourage you to join and to be a part of our community. If you are an existing member, please continue to take advantage of the various events and opportunities presented to you and invest in your professional development. And for those who are looking for more or who have more to give, there are even greater opportunities as a IBBA-MA Board Member or Committee Chairperson.
